The two accessible free-jazz tracks – 32-minute “The Creator Has A Master Plan” and 5-minute “Colors” – are diverse and dynamic excursions which leave the listener wanting more. In the decades after his first recordings with Coltrane, Sanders developed into a more well-rounded artist, capable of playing convincingly in a variety of contexts, from free to mainstream.ġ969’s spiritually-themed Karma served as his third album as a leader and finds the tenor saxophonist leading a top flight group comprised of Leon Thomas (vocals), Lonnie Liston Smith (piano), Reggie Workman (bass), Billy Hart (drums) and Julius Watkins (French horn). 1 2 Pharoah Sanders / Karma 180 Gram Vinyl Record AIMP 57201 Original Price: 38.98 23.98 Pharoah Sanders / Black Unity 180 Gram Vinyl Record AVER 57701 29.98 Floating Points, Pharoah Sanders and the London Symphony Orchestra / Promises Vinyl Record ALUB 0097 Original Price: 21.98 17.58 Pharoah Sanders / Pharoah Vinyl Record ALUB 8008 54. Saxophonist Pharoah Sanders passed away last week at the age of 81. Yet, Sanders is highly regarded to the point of reverence by a great many jazz fans.
